About This Group
This group launched on: 20 JULY 2017. It was created for our 4.0 players who wanted a group of their own that was open only to males singles players at the 4.0 level. The membership of this group is controlled democratically by the members though a secret ballot process. Every month, the players rate the other players in the group as one of the following:
Players who meet the 4.0 standard, stay in this group. Those who don’t are moved to another group the following month.
There are some of very firm rules for this group. These rules are in place to protect the integrity of the group. They are in place to ensure that only 4.0 players are in this group. This means that faces will change over time, but the standard of the group will remain the same.
Nobody in this group is guaranteed a spot for life. Players who want to remain in this group must continue to perform at a 4.0 level. If they rise above this level, they may be voted out of this group and sent to the 4.5 level. Players whose play dips below the 4.0 level may be voted out and sent to the 3.5 level.
Only members of this group are eligible to vote. Staff, administrators and coaches are ineligible. Voting is by secret paper ballot at the ballot box in-store. There is no way for anybody to find out how you voted unless you tell them.
Voting is a requirement. All players must vote every month without exception. Players who fail to cast their votes are removed from the group.
Voting for the current month determines which group each player will fit into the following month. If a simple majority of players in the group vote to move a player up, they will be moved up. If a simple majority of players in the group vote to move a player down, the player will be moved down. There are no appeals.
It is expected that some players will be borderline players who are voted up or down and end up moving back and forth between groups before they finally settle at one level or another. Nobody should take any of the voting personally. Players who get upset about these things may want to play elsewhere.

How to Play
Players may play whenever they want, wherever they want. A volunteer organizer is appointed for this group for the outdoor season which runs from Victoria Day to Thanksgiving Day. The organizer is paid an honorarium by Racquet Network for taking the time to organize weekly group meetups. Attendance at meetups is optional. Players are free to play on their own as they see fit.
